Songs have been written about it. It has triggered wars – of both turf and continental proportions. It is the subject matter of rap, as modern day poetry, and forms part of the lexicon of lawyers, politicians, journalists and activists.

We are talking about respect. You will find the value of respect being addressed in hundreds of books in a multitude of categories: leadership, management, psychology, self-help, religion, child-care. Respect is at the heart of diversity, which in turn is impacting on your business as we speak.

Respect is absent in bias – regardless of whether you claim your bias to be conscious or unconscious. This is a complex and challenging subject, but in this episode of The Art of the Suit I hope to illustrate how important this value is and how to ensure it is present in the way you conduct your brand.
